Traditional noise barriers consume significant space as they are constructed separately from vehicle restraint systems, and do not contain or redirect errant vehicles. Additionally, construction of traditional noise barriers is often complicated by ground installations, such as wiring, pipelines, and drainage systems.
REBLOC provides an innovative solution by integrating the noise barrier into a precast concrete safety barrier. This integrated design positions the system closer to the noise source while maintaining a lower overall height. The double-sided absorptive panels alleviate noise concerns and prevent reverberation. This integrated system is rigorously tested to meet the highest safety standards outlined in AASHTO’s MASH-2016.
The system has successfully passed the requirements of MASH Test Level 5 (TL5), ensuring compliance with the most stringent safety standards for barriers designed to withstand impacts from heavy vehicles. The system’s double-sided design makes it suitable for implementation on the roadside as well as in the center median. Shallow anchoring of the concrete safety barriers into the ground provides the stability needed to achieve optimal construction heights.
