An effective solution is provided by Terminals (TE) with non-energy absorbing characteristics. Instead of bringing vehicles to a sudden stop, these systems redirect them in a controlled manner. Thereby, they create valuable reaction and braking distance for following road users.

By focusing on the redirection of vehicles rather than the absorption of energy, non-energy-absorbing terminals can enhance overall road safety, particularly in high-speed or spatially limited environments, as they help to avoid abrupt stopping by providing more reaction time and space for following road users.
